Trish Grant is not a romantic. Okay, so she may read her share of romance novels, but that doesn’t mean she thinks that some fellow with a six pack is going to ride up on a horse and sweep her (literally) off her feet. Romance like that just isn’t for her. It belongs on the page.

Max Jackson noticed Trish at his cousin’s funeral, of all places. She was hard to miss with her citrus-colored hair, violet contacts and fiery attitude.

Trish was just as captivated by Max. He makes her laugh, which is rare, and it doesn’t hurt that he rocks blue hair and the most killer smirk that drives her crazy. Max is there for her during a rough time and even if she wanted to, she can’t shake him.

There are things about Trish that Max doesn’t know, and she’s not going to tell him. She hasn’t told anyone and doesn’t plan on it, thank you very much. But when Trish’s life is ripped apart by a dark piece of her past, will she let Max in? Or will she give up her potential fairytale to protect her already-scarred heart from further damage?

I am going to keep my review short and sweet. I truly enjoyed Trish and Max’s story. Trish had a lot to overcome with her past and while I felt they weren’t confronted in a great way, the way that the author did it was sweet and kept it clean. Some of her past secrets blew me away. I didn’t see the last one coming from a million miles away!!! I like how diff rent it was from a lot of other books.

This book kept me pulled in the whole time i read it. At time I had wished for more, and I wish some parts were written longer, but at the end I didn’t feel like I missed anything. Everything was wrapped up perfectly. I loved seeing Stryker and Katie in this book!

The plot was different and refreshing. She is a take no shit, not keep your mouth closed kind of girl. The hero is a sweet caring, laid back, find your own path type of guy! While at the beginning they are more like friends things move quickly into a different area. I enjoyed that aspect of this book!

Max was so sweet and sometimes a little two sweet, but that was just Max. I wish we had saw his problems resolved a little bit more, but this was really about Trish and her overcoming her past. The sexy time scenes were amazing and blew me away. With everything that is brought up, from the heroines past in this book they suppressed my ideas on where it could go.

Overall this book was great and I recommend it to fans of Chelsea’s other books. You will not be disappoint
